Description

Craniometer Mimos – device for healthcare professionals.

Craniometer is used as a medical device for cranial measurements in infants up to two years of age. These measurements are used to diagnose and monitor positional cranial deformities such as plagiocephaly, brachycephaly or scaphocephaly.

Includes: user manual with measurement protocol and Pack of 10 elastic reference measurement bands.
The new V2.0 reference bands have been substantially improved. These bands are latex-free, more accurate to measure and softer to the touch. In addition, they have a certified silicone finish on the inside that prevents the band from moving off the baby’s head.

Important: For hygienic reasons, it is recommended to use one band per patient. The family can take the band home with the dossier and bring it to the next visits. Each band has an estimated lifetime of 25 measurements to ensure the quality of the measurement.

WHY IS CRANIOMETER MEASUREMENT AN ACCURATE AND NECESSARY TOOL?

PREVENTION
A problem that is noticed early is corrected much faster and more efficiently. If monthly measurements were taken during the first months of the baby, plagiocephaly would be observed in a mild form, which may not be visible to the naked eye. Such deformation is usually easily corrected and the head recovers quickly. Changes in shape visible to the eye are often seen only after about 3-4 months.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE CORRECTION PLAN
After assessing the severity of plagiocephaly or brachycephaly with a craniometer, the optimal correction plan and measures can be selected.

CONTROL
In the case of head recumbency, especially in moderate or severe forms, and when the baby is older than 3-4 months, it is very important to monitor whether the head is correcting effectively, so that alternative corrective measures can be offered in a timely manner, e.g. helmet therapy.
